I have been wanting to shoot a ballerina ever since I started photography. I love their grace, beauty, and strength and I have been dying to capture it for myself. Luckily, I have an amazingly talented friend named Kaytee who is one the best dancers I have ever had the pleasure to watch. Her movements are mesmerizing. We first went to Union Station in Portland and we happened to catch some amazing light on the bridge.
After Union Station we headed to the Hawthorne Bridge! Let me tell you, ballerinas and bridges are the new peanut butter and jelly! There was also a sweet older woman who stopped to take pictures of us on her cell phone as she was walking by. Made us feel extra cool.
I have been having a lot of fun playing with mirrors when I shoot. The feet poses above are some of the effects that can be achieved. I absolutely love that while I was playing with a mirror, a bus drove by and I caught the time stamp in my image! You can see it above on the right! How cool right?! Then with the last bit of light left we booked it over to the top of a PSU parking garage!
A HUGE thank you to Kaytee and my awesome assistant Amber for freezing your booties off all in the name of artistic expression! I had a blast and my heart is happy! <3
